Fastest Way To Lose Weight: Supplement More!

Posted by Jennifer Gebbie on June 5, 2014 | 1 Comment

I've come to the hard realization that no matter how hard you try, you can NOT out train a bad diet. I was talking with my Postman this week (who I love dearly) and asked him how many miles he walked a day. I was shocked when he said his route was 6-7 miles. I thought to myself- "How is it possible that a guy that walks 6-7 miles, 5 days a week has a HUGE belly." I quickly reminded myself that it is just another example that we can truly never out run a bad diet.

What do white spots on fingernails mean?

Posted by Jennifer Gebbie on March 28, 2014 | 0 Comments

Growing up I always had white spots on my nails and I never knew what it meant.
Today I now know that my entire life I was always zinc deficient.

Dr. Osborne of GlutenFreeSocity.org talks about zinc deficiency and how it is common among gluten sensitive people.

Due to my leaky gut, zinc was a mineral I became deficient in, so I started taking Dr. Osborne's zinc supplement. The great thing about his supplements is that they are #TrueGlutenFree. There are no gluten fillers with wheat or corn that you have to worry about.

I Cured Myself From Diabetes & So Can YOU!

Posted by Jennifer Gebbie on February 18, 2014 | 1 Comment

Every second, 2 people develop diabetes.

Sitting on the plane heading back to Boston from Denver, I’m listening to my lectures with Institute For Integrative Nutrition, learning more about blood sugars and the negative effects the Standard American Diet has caused on our country. As the Stewardess was coming around taking drink orders, not one person around me ordered water. I heard: “I'll take an orange juice,” “I’ll take an apple juice,”  “I’ll take a Coke,” and “I’ll take a Ginger Ale." Next they came around with the Fig Newtons; everyone accepted that treat as well. In one hour my peers around me had consumed 36-54 grams of sugar. To put this into perspective, as a person having cured myself from diabetes through diet and lifestyle choices, I aim to eat 26-30 grams of sugar/ day.

Redefining the Term: 'Diet'

Posted by Jennifer Gebbie on February 5, 2014 | 0 Comments

STOP! Please don't tell me that you made your New Year's resolution to go on the "Paleo Diet" or "Omni Diet" or "Vegan Diet" or "Atkins Diet". The term diet has not been properly defined in our culture and here is why.

The true definition of diet "is the sum of food consumed by a person or other organisms....nutrition requires ingestion and absorption of vitamins, minerals, and food energy in the form of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats" (Wikipedia). Diet is the food we put in our body; the fuel that keeps you going. Your diet should not be defined by the mainstream media.

I want you to stop thinking I'm going on "X" diet so I can lose X weight. A fad 'diet' WILL NOT HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHT LONG TERM!!! Did you keep the weight off from last year? Or do you find yourself struggling again?

Recommended Daily Supplements + Gluten Free Supplements

Posted by Jennifer Gebbie on January 20, 2014 | 0 Comments

While I do believe that people can overdo it with supplements or take levels their body's do not need, I do think there are 4 supplemets that everyone should consider taking. Remember, taking supplements isn't your pass to eating unhealthy, processed foods. I still want to see you eating your 5-7 fruits and vegetables a day, at a MINIMUM!!!!

It is also important that you are buying quality supplements. I personally would not buy anything from your regular drug store (i.e. CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid). Many of those supplements are produced by companies who don't typically follow best practices when it comes to food standards. They also fill their supplements with unnecessary additives, color dyes, and sugars.

Boycott Coca-Cola: Fight For GMO Labeling

Posted by Jennifer Gebbie on January 14, 2014 | 0 Comments

How can you trust a company that continues to poison their consumers with sugar and chemicals? There is nothing natural in a bottle of Coca-Cola and drinking high doses of sugar is only going to cause excess inflammation in your body that can lead to many serious health problems down the road. Did you know that in one 12 oz cane of Coke there are 39 grams of sugar?!? Americans ingest 1.7 million tons (or 10.8 pounds per person) of sugar each year from Coca-Cola alone. Can we really be that surprised that obesity and diabetes are two epidemics in the U.S. today?

Not only is Coca-Cola poisoning their consumers with their own products, they are now trying to affect the quality standards in the U.S. Food Industry. In 2013, Coca-Cola secretly funneled more than $1.5 million dollars through the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) in order to block an initiative that would have required the labeling of genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
